Five exciting days of art making & exploration for kids entering 3rd-6th grades!
ABOUT OUR COORDINATORS
Paige Emily Gwyn is the K-12 Art Teacher at Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools. She graduated from Finlandia University as summa cum laude with a BFA in Art and Design: Digital Art. She earned her teaching certificate from Northern Michigan University and will be a graduate in May 2019 with a Master of Arts in Education. She has done an outdoor mural for Michigan Technological University's Keweenaw Research Center and is currently working on a mural project for the Copper Country Humane Society.
Hannah Smith is a senior at Finlandia University, due to graduate in May 2019 with a B.F.A in Fine Arts, with a concentration in Fiber and Fashion Design. Miss Smith started her art experience by drawing people at the age of 5 years old. From there, she has cultivated her love of all things artistic in the many years following; her specialties lying in surface design of textiles. Hannah is also known throughout the Keeweenaw
community for her work in garment design.
SUMMER ARTS CAMP, now in its 34th year, is five exciting days of art making and exploration for children entering 3rd-6th grades.
This year’s Summer Arts Camp coordinators Paige Emily Gwyn and Hannah Smith, along with guest artists, will guide students through fun and educational activities focused on projects related to contemporary and great master artists. Youth will experience a week of projects focused on exploring a variety of art mediums. Activities include: drawing, painting, fiber arts, writing, journal making, ceramics, and more! Campers will learn in a fun, supportive, and educational environment.
Camp is held Monday-Friday, 10am-3pm
Students must wear play clothes and bring a sack lunch.
SUMMER ARTS CAMP FEE
Register and pay by July 2nd: $130
After July 2nd the fee is $150. The discounted fee is only given to applicants that pay by the early registration deadline. Deadline to register for either session is July 13th. Supplies included.

If enrolling your child in art camp poses a financial challenge, scholarship assistance may be available. Our scholarships come from individuals and the amount available fluctuates from year to year. We award scholarships for $50, which partially covers the cost of Summer Arts Camp. Parents/ guardians must pay the other portion of the camp fee no later than two weeks prior to the start of camp.
