Youth Classes
HANCOCK, MI – Registration is open for Summer Arts Camp 2011, a fun filled week of art activities and creative learning held at the Copper Country Community Arts Center for youth entering grades 3rd-6th. Week long sessions run August 1-5 and August 8-12. Both sessions are packed with exciting lessons including drawing, painting, drama, creative writing, tie dye, sculpture, gallery visits and more. This year’s Summer Arts Camp will be led by Amanda Cruickshank. Amanda, a Lake Linden native and former Upward Bound work-study for the CCCAC, is a recent graduate of Alma College, with a degree in graphic design and illustration.
Summer Arts Camp, a Copper Country Community Arts Council program, provides youth with the opportunity to experience the joy of creative expression in a safe, supportive environment. Help make a difference in a local child’s life by providing a scholarship to attend Summer Arts Camp.

26th annual Summer Arts Camp: $90
Hancock- The Copper Country Community Arts Center is offering a unique program for students in 9th-12th grades. Students enrolled in Book Arts Camp will learn about the book making craft and related art media. Instructors will teach paper making, book making, block printing, zine creation, altered books and other exciting book arts related subjects.
Book Arts Camp is geared for students with a strong interest in art. Camp will be held August 15-19 from 10am-3pm. Deadline to register is Friday, August 5th. Space is limited to twelve students. The Book Arts Camp brochure may be downloaded here.
