Help us raise $1500 to make more free Art2Go Kits for local kids!
On Giving Tuesday, the Copper Country Community Arts Center plans to raise $1500 to create free Art2Go art kits for area youth. We began the Art2Go program during Summer 2020, when we were unable to offer our usual youth summer arts camps. The first Art2Go kits were funded by the Detroit Institute of Arts Inside|Out program. Inside|Out brought seven reproductions from the DIA’s permanent collection to Hancock, and our Art2Go kits helped youth to draw inspiration from those master works. Kits included art supplies, notebooks with custom letterpress covers (made in our letterpress studio), and educational materials about the DIA artists. Community response to the kits was enthusiastic; we distributed roughly 100 kits on a first-come, first-served basis. We hope to enliven their winters by making art resources freely available! Creating helps with motor skill development, stress relief, and overall mental health. Did you know the CCCAC has a Youth Gallery dedicated solely to exhibiting work by young artists? We can't tell you how much it builds a youth's self esteem to see their artwork on public display. Want to help encourage creativity and bring joy to area youth? Donate to our Giving Tuesday campaign!
