Picture

Pictured: Pop Art by Lily King-Takacs, Hancock High School Grade 11The Copper Country Community Arts Center in Hancock is featuring artwork from area elementary, middle, and high school students from March 9-30 for Celebrate Youth Arts Month 2019. The Youth Gallery and the Kerredge Gallery at the CCCAC will be filled floor to ceiling with local youth art.  March is a time to recognize young artists and to appreciate the art teachers who work throughout the school year encouraging and inspiring their students. Participating schools include: Baraga Area Schools, Philip Latendress Elementary School, Calumet High School, Washington Middle School, CLK Elementary, Lake Linden-Hubbell Schools, Houghton Elementary, Dollar Bay-Tamarack City Schools, Barkell Elementary, and Hancock High School.

Plan to attend the opening reception at the Arts Center on Saturday, March 9 from noon-2pm.  Also, be sure to look for featured youth artwork in the Daily Mining Gazette throughout the month.
